Esther ch 6&7

I know I haven't posted in several days. I did complete the 30 day challenge and that was awesome! I hope that all of you are really getting something out of the readings. I know I am. I have been reading at night every though I haven't been posting too much. I will continue to try to post nightly. These two chapters are about Esther being such a brave woman. She knew that if she went before the king without being summoned that she could be killed. She trusted God and the people who were praying for Her. I firmly believe this is what made the difference in this situation. She prayed, went before the king, then invited the king and Haman to a celebration the next day. Now why would she think to wait and discuss matters with him in her own time? It's because it was all A part of God's plan. That night, Xerxes decided to read the book of chronicles. In it, he saw all of the good things that Mordecai did. He made Haman go honor him. The next day, Esther asked them to return to the dinner. When they did, the king asked her what she had to request of him. She then told him about the Jews and how Haman had tried to exterminate them. Xerxes sentenced him to die on the same pole that he had originally planned to use for Mordecai. This is quite ironic to me. I never would have thought that Haman would die that way. I think Hamans vice, that eventually got him killed, was pride or arrogance. He thought too highly of himself when others didn't think of him as anything even similar. It's very hard not to be prideful though. We need to take delight in our work and our acquaintances that we have. But just because we hold a Friendhsip position to someone in a powerful position doesn't mean that we are any better off than any other person. We need to keep this in mind. Haman became arrogant and haughty. So arrogant in fact that he took the planning of Mordecai's death Into his own hands and didn't consult the king which I am sure infuriated him! We have to be careful not to overstep our boundaries and make sure that we are right where God wants us to be!
